11-7-12 ATL NIMO UPDATE

     Barrier Island. ATL NIMO's primary responsibility is to work with Nassau County and local government to provide an incident management structure in support of emergency relief activities resulting from the impacts from Hurricane Sandy. The primary objective is to complement and support the county and local governments in providing emergency assistance.
     Everyone but the Command and General Staff were released yesterday from the Barrier Island ICP in Long Beach due to the Atlantic storm. ATL NIMO started communication with State of New York, FEMA and Nassau County EOC on glide path and next steps. The Region 9 Eastern team Type 2 team continues to coordinate volunteer resources. All Indiana IMT resources are operational today, Nov 8, at the ICP in Long Beach, Long Island.
