Operations at the Logistical Staging Area was at a high tempo as resources from NYC OEM, Governor’s Office, NY DHS, FEMA, National Guard and Con-Edison continued to arrive. The Ohio IMT initially had responsibility for tracking only the NYC OEM resources but there has been increasing expectation that they also support tracking, staging and parking for all assets. Con-Ed alone parks more than 500 line trucks here overnight. NIMO continues to re-evaluate the size of the IMT organization and order resources to support their mission. The Fulton Hotshots have been a great help and are fully employed. Demand for hotel rooms is starting to ease but there is still little to no gasoline in the city. NIMO is carpooling so we have vehicles in reserve with full tanks.
NIMO was tasked by ESF4 to assess the needs and situational awareness of the FEMA Division Supervisors in each of the boroughs with the idea that NIMO would embed an Operations person with each DIVS to assist them with assessments and resource requests. Most of the DIVS had been on the ground for only one day. Based on their feedback, it was determined that our assistance is not needed at this time.
